Mont Saint-Michel

Mont Saint-Michel
How can I say this is one of my favourite photographs when I have so many. This was taken some years ago and it is an evening that my wife often mentions especially when she sees the photo. Why? Well I spent at least two hours waiting for the sun to slowly set and then some because it was the afterlight that gave the image that special feeling -at least for me it did.
Le Mont Saint Michel just gets into Normandy and no more and is of those places (again) that is a must visit. For me it’s from a distance or at least out of season because it can get a bit crowded within the confines of the ‘Mont’. I usually check Wikipedia for information but some of the images I will be posting really don’t need much of an explanation although I did see that the population of the island is only 41 that difficult to believe when you visit.
The Mont-Saint-Michel and its bay were added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1979.
